So the new Spectrum NG will no longer have an accounting module. So I am now in the process on converting all of the information form the AP-GL system so that it can be imported into Quickbooks. So far this has been extremely labor intensive and involves me going through manually editing 10,000+ line spreadsheets to get the data into a format that Quickbooks will accept. At this rate we will be ready for the transition sometime in 2008. Is there any faster/easier way to convert the Accounting system so that it can be impoted into Quickbooks?

You are correct, there will not be an AP/GL module in Spectrum NG. As far as converting your AP/GL data to a format that can be imported by Quickbooks, I'm not entirely sure what can be done. I have emailed our conversion specialist to have him look at this question and see if there is something that we can do.

I checked with our conversion specialists and found out that we may be able to convert your AP/GL data to the Quickbooks format if we were provided with the format to import. Please note that when we typically export G/L transactions to other systems, we send them as Journal Entries to be imported, without the detail of what makes up those posted amounts. This typically is not an issue as you are able to keep the Spectrum system running as long as you need to so that you can access the historical detail at any time.
